At the Breast center of Lebanon we are dedicated to providing the highest quality service and breast care. We have a strong commitment to the care of benign, or non cancerous, and malignant (cancer) breast diseases. Dr. Barrett is a member of the American Society of Breast Surgeons and has a keen interest in maintaining the skills and knowledge to ensure our patients receive the highest quality surgical care.
Dr. Barrett has a special interest in breast surgery and has maintained additional and focused annual education for updates—including oncoplastic techniques to optimize cosmetic outcomes and ongoing new techniques in imaging and biopsy. For instance, Dr. Barrett is the first in Middle Tennessee to offer regional anesthetic blocks to allow patients undergoing major breast surgery to avoid general anesthesia if they so choose. This is particularly helpful for elderly patients or those concerned for deterioration of cognitive function after surgery.
